home leadership Content Management This page is to look at the transition to the new version of ISO 9000 issued in 2000. After the 13th December 2003, quality systems based on the previous version of the standard will not be valid. Looking at the statistics published as part of the ISO survey at the end of 2002, it seemed possible that the UK would show an actual drop in certificates as the transition to the new standard has been slow. Reports in Quality World however suggest that the decline will be as small as 5%, with some transition still to happen in 2004. The figures for Asia are much more positive, suggesting support for the new standard and possibly more involvement from management. The Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle is part of the main 'requirements' document. Maybe there is some connection, but ther eis not yet much evidence on how the new standard has been used or why the UK has gone into a lower gear. The figures for the US are not much better. Please come back as this page will be updated. Any links or suggestions welcome. |
